1. Who we are

Bordersim ("we", "us") operates this website and is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@bordersim.com.

2. What we collect

• Email address: collected at checkout to send your order confirmation and eSIM, and used to verify you when you look up past orders.
• Order details: destination, plan, price and an order reference.
• Payment data: handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. Your card details never reach our servers.
• Referral code: if you reach us through a partner referral link, we store the partner's code so a resulting purchase can be credited. It identifies the partner, not you.
• Timezone: read from your browser so we can show dates and times in your local time.

We do not operate user accounts and we use no advertising trackers.

3. Cookies and similar storage

We keep cookies to a minimum and use none for advertising. We set:

• Order session (orders_session): set after you verify your email to view past orders, so you stay signed in to your orders for up to 30 days. It holds the verified email and an expiry, signed so it cannot be altered.
• Referral (referral): records a partner referral code for up to 30 days so a later purchase can be credited to the partner who referred you.
• Timezone (ch_tz): stores your timezone so dates and times appear in your local time.
• Theme preference: your light or dark choice, stored in your browser and never sent to us.

4. Analytics

We measure how the site is used with a privacy-focused analytics tool. It counts page views and a few interactions, such as which destinations are clicked and which searches return no matches, so we know which plans to add. It sets no cookies, does not store your IP address, and cannot be used to identify you.

5. How we use your data

To deliver your eSIM, send the order confirmation email, verify your email when you look up past orders, answer support requests, prevent fraud, and meet tax and accounting obligations.

6. Who we share it with

• Stripe: processes your payment and collects your email at checkout.
• Resend: our email delivery provider, sends the order confirmation and verification emails to your address.
• eSIM network partners: receive only the order reference and plan details, never your name or email.
• Referral partners: where a purchase is credited to a partner, they see the sale's date, plan and amount, never your name or email.
• Authorities: where the law requires it.

We never sell your data.

7. Where your data is processed

We are based in the United Kingdom. Some of the providers above process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (or the Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) and equivalent contractual protections.

8. How long we keep it

Order records, including the email address attached to them, are kept for as long as needed to support your purchase and as tax and accounting law requires, then deleted. The cookies above expire on their own, the order session and referral within 30 days.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you (deletion may be limited by legal retention duties). Contact us at support@bordersim.com. If you are in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

10. Children

This service is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their personal data, contact us at support@bordersim.com and we will delete it.

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with an updated date.
